Maximum size of mailboxes

I use pop3 and my largest mailbox is around 3 GB. Is 4 GB a hard limit or is there no limit?

Build is 115.3.1 (32-bit) on Windows 10.

Thunderbird places no limits. If there are limits, it would be with your email provider.
