I have lost years of bookmarks, passwords and alike
Hello,
Late yesterday afternoon we experienced some sort of electrical glitch.
It was only a millisecond, and my computer went off and then rebooted.
This left me with all of my emails, attachments, contacts ect... gone from Mozilla Thunderbird.
The great news is with the assistance of their forum, we were able to get all of the emails, attachments, contacts ect back online.
However, during the process of trying to get Mozilla Thunderbird I unistalled and re-installed Thunderbird.
This also took with this all of the bookmarks, settings and passwords that Firefox Browser had. Over 5 years worth.
At the moment I am devastated.
Can we get all of this back.
Can someone help please.
Thanks in advance!
Mr Gee

Go to your local department/electronics store and look around for a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that is useful for you. The lowest price is $50 +. There are also units on the market that plug into the computer. So, if the battery gets low, it will shut down the computer to protect it.
Note: Sudden power loss can damage or destroy a hard drive's data.

That is very strange. These programs don't interact directly. What does the current profile look like? Are your settings and such there? Or does it not have anything? Any error messages?
Sometimes when the browser thinks there is a problem with the profile, it will create a new one.

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar.
How many profiles are listed?
How many should be there?
Also, open the profile folder in your file explorer.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Hi Fred,
There was no "Old Firefox" on the desktop, there was an Old Firefox that was part of a backup in December 2020.
I have clicked on each link you wrote in your reply and they seem to go nowhere with regard to what i should do next, the information given is way above my pay grade.
To me honest with you I am now completely lost, totally.
Any other ways to help would be appreciated.?

Did you check the post I made about the profile? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1355981#answer-1455326
Hi Fred,
Yes, I did see the post you made about the profile.
Thanks, however, like I mentioned in my previous reply, this is way past my pay grade.

Open the about:profiles page. How many profiles are listed? How many should there be?
Also, open the profiles folder. How many folders are listed? C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
