Firefox is incredibly slow on Windows 10.
Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 64 bit Home and most of my apps work but for some reason Firefox takes forever to open a page. Windows 7, Windows 8, not a problem in fact I don't even remember the version I was using because I never needed to check. IT was my primary browser on my main screen and I had Chrome running on the second screen to keep things separate.
Since I upgraded Firefox seems to want to take forever to open, or in some cases will not even open, any website. Chrome works perfectly with Windows 10. Even Edge works better than Firefox, it's still slow but at least pages can open.
I've tried running it in safe mode. Same issues as before. I've gone under security and under Permissions put check mark in the box for "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" as another suggestion and it made no difference. I literally can't even log into one of my Gmail accounts using Firefox. It takes forever, I put in the name and click on next to get me to the password but nothing happens. It just sits there.
Websites can take upwards of a minute or two before they're fully loaded. In some cases, like Youtube or Gmail it's next to impossible to access them completely.
Specs are as follows: Firefox Quantum 58.0.2
System: Windows 10 64 bit Home 16GB memory. 2.90 Ghz CPU Memory and CPU are not being stressed by this. No memory leaks or hanging processes that eat up cycles. The only thing I do find is my C drive going crazy during this time and almost maxing out.

Seems like it was either my HDD or my copy of Windows that had messed up. Twice now when I tried to wake it up from sleep, it crashed and this morning afterwards I couldn't even get it to start up.
Unable to repair, unable to restore to a previous save point, unable to even get into safe mode. I installed a fresh copy on a a new HDD and this time it seems to have worked as all three browsers, Chrome, Firefox and Edge are all functioning.
Now all that remains is to get rid of Cortana....
Thank you anyway but this issue can be closed.

hi, could you perhaps capture and share a performance profile from this slowness in "action"?: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/Reporting_a_Performance_Problem (you can skip the steps about downloading a nightly build) perhaps this can provide some clues of what's going wrong...
This literally took ten minutes to get to the download page and install this add on. And even then it took another couple of minutes for it to actually install.
Currently trying to get to Youtube and I'm recording. Will add the file to this when I'm done.
I'm still waiting for it to complete. Literally it says, "Sharing will be enabled once symbolication is complete" and it's been waiting for 10 minutes now.
I've captured part of the data and I've managed to save it as a .GZ. Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to send it in this manner. Can I e-mail it to you or send it in some other way?
Have you gone through Windows Settings and Turned off all things you will not use and also do not want to allow (such as telemetry) as well as uninstall all programs that were installed with the setup such as Candy Crush and ...... These things all eat bandwidth talking to MS.
You may also want to download this and stick in a folder on your desktop to remember to update it. Call it TOOLS as stand alone programs can go in there also. This stops most of Microsoft Telemetry sending info back to them : https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
