I had been having Firefox launch on startup so my wife wouldn't need to do a separate operation. Last week, it quit launching. I looked at users and groups, and sure enough it was unchecked. I checked it, and rebooted, but still no launch. I tried disabling it in the dock, then re-enabling it in the dock and users and groups, but still no joy.

Running Mac OS 10.9.5 and latest Firefox.

I've spent half of the past month trying to get computers and phones to do what they used to do. Frustrating!

Hi ravenrgg

Does the firefox application show in your 'Dock' ? If yes, two finger click on the 'Firefox' app > Options > Check 'Open at Login'

Hope this helps

DragonLeo, thanks for the quick response. But I already tried that. In fact, it was checked and didn't do anything. It was unchecked in System Preferences, but checking it there didn't help either.

You are really on the cusp of no support/support. Might want to think of using the Extended Release https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-osx

You can try this : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

The extended release web page suggested I use regular release 56 instead of the extended release, which is targeted at businesses.

Should I just upgrade to the latest Mac OS, instead of bothering with that? Doing the firefox reset and installing release 56 didn't work.
