How is a backup completed when a ".zip" error terminates the process?
The backup process for Thunderbird almost completes, but fails due to "Zip file could not be opened" and "Warning: Backup's file isn't valid. Backup has failed." (The Firefox backup worked fine.)

I suggest you visit the Mozbackup author site and read the warning that the software is broken and he does not have time to fix is.
