I reinstalled my computer today. Before doing so i exported all my bookmarks to a html file. Nothing happends when i try to import the html file into firefox.

Please fix the file so that I can import it into my newly installed firefox.

Hi Spaceinufacer,

Please just try again and make sure your bookmarks toolbar is visible. Or use the bookmarks library and look in that folder. Some of the bookmarks are duplicated and most of them are on your bookmarks toolbar. See also

I imported the bookmarks into a test profile with no problem.

Please post back to say how you get on. If you have further problems please try and explain exactly what does or does not happen.

I've tried at least 20 times now still nothing.

I've reinstalled and tried again. Nothing.

I've reinstalled and rebooted the computer. Nothing.

I reinstalled windows and installed firefox anew, nothing.

I've been following these steps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/import-bookmarks-html-file

My bookmarks are vissible under the search field for the browswer.

I've checked in unsorted bookmarks as well.

Sorry you are still having problems. I am not sure at what stage you run into difficulties, so a few more questions

Use 

Ctrl+Shift+O
  • Can you confirm that opens your bookmarks library ?
  • Does that have any of your new bookmarks in it ?
  • Have you tried opening all the folders you see in the Bookmark Library ?
  • Please let us have screenshot of your open bookmarks library

Also test that your bookmarks library is working please.

  • For instance can you bookmark this thread and find the bookmark again?
  • Have you looked at and read this so you understand how the bookmarks library is expected to work ?

Just so you can see the bookmarks open the html file with Firefox by using a right click option on the File or by using Firefox's keyboard shortcut Ctrl+O

  • That should open the bookmarks file as a web page of clickable links.
