How do I re-install Thunderbird on my Windows 8 Laptop and also Reset the Profile as I am getting lots of error messages.

My Gmail account works fine..... but what my problem is that my Thunderbird email has during the last 2 weeks stopped recieving and sending Messages and I am totally lost what i need to do. All my configuration settings (Incoming Server and Outgoing Server) are correct as Thunderbird configured these correctly (IMAP) and even confirmed password was ok.

But now 4 problems are occurring

1. Recieve messages not working (but i dont get any error message?)

2. When I try to send a message it comes up with >>> Sending of message failed. An error occurred sending mail: Could not get password for smtp.googlemail.com. The message was not sent. .

3. When i try to delete a the email account and then re- create it and will not display again in the Thunderbird Menu view eventhough its confirms the GMAIL account is correctly configured and password is ok

Need Help ?....I am totally lost ???? I even tried to reinstalling Thunderbird but that did not seem to fix the problem

Please explain very simply as I am not tech savvy
