I have been trying to set up Thunderbird Mobile on my Android phone. I scanned the QR code to export my settings. However, when I open the app on my phone, the only options I have are "Add an email account", or "Sign in with Thundermail". The instructions state that clicking on "Get Started" should bring up the option to "Import Settings" but it does not.

1. I want Thunderbird to automatically erase all but the most recent 250 on my phone as it downloads new ones from my server. As it does so, I do not want the downloaded messages marked as "read" on my server, nor do I want messages erased on my phone to be deleted from my server. (That is all to be taken care of by my desktop email program.)

Phone: Moto g power 5G - 2024; OS: Android 15; Thunderbird v: 23.0 Settings: Fetching mail - Local folder size: 250 messages - Sync server deletions: Off - Mark as read when deleted: Off When I delete a message: Do not delete on server - Erase deleted messages on server: Manually

At present, Thunderbird downloads all the incoming messages and leaves them on, so I quickly find I have 1000+ messages stored on my phone. This eventually slows it's performance notably. I have to manually erase the messages, and then empty the trash, in order to circumvent this problem.

Also, when my desktop downloads the email, many of them are now marked read, even though I haven't read them. I am wondering if Thunderbird for Android isn't marking some or all emails as read on my server as it downloads them to my phone?

The instructions state that clicking on "Get Started" should bring up the option to "Import Settings" but it does not.

I should also add, when I try to put in the settings (which I know are correct, same as what I have in Thunderbird Desktop), it comes up with "Checking incoming server settings failed Network error Details: Unable to resolve host "twc.mail.com": No address associated with hostname. I positively know that is correct.

I am aware that Spectrum has had problems. However, it works fine with Thunderbird Desktop.

I do all my email on my computer but I do have Tbird on my cellphone too, just in case I have to send something. But I never download. So I was in a situation where a government process included 'check your email' and I had only my cellphone with me. So I started downloading: 25 more, 25 more, 25 more ... and a hundred presses latter it's still not finished. Is there some way to reset that? I'm back with my computer and my email seem fine, but the cellphone remains stuck.

I went out of the USA on May to Ecuador and Peru, and on the same day the Android version of Thunderbird stopped retrieving new email from the server. I have used Thunderbird pointed to the same server on Windows 11 and Android successfully for years. I thought it might be something to do with being out of the country, but now I'm back in the USA, and sync account on Android still does not retrieve new mail that has accumulated since May 4th. I've been following my email using a webmail access so I know there's lots of new mail. I've closed and reopened Thunderbird on the Android, and I've tried sync account with the webmail access closed. I have not yet tried Thunderbird on my windows 11 laptop because I'm still not home yet. Any suggestions welcomed, thank you for your help! I had an email in my hotmail spam folder. I moved it to the inbox and it disappeared! Possible causes of a problem 1. The email came from a private email domain eg info@companyname.com. It is a small company which uses outlook, a previous email also ended up in my spam even though it is genuine, (And I know from experience that kind of email address can cause problems in my setup) 2. Both emails had an attachment - the first one I moved using thunderbird desktop, not android, directly to the inbox of another email account with no problem. 3. All email to my hotmail automatically gets forwarded onto a gmail account (not leaving a copy in hotmail). However if I mark an email as not spam/move to inbox in thunderbird (desktop) it doesn't get forwarded on, stays in the hotmail inbox.

I have just moved another message (telling me I'd signed in here) from my spam to inbox using thunderbird android and it has appeared in my hotmail inbox - so I suspect the attachment might be the issue?

Any advice of how I can get it back? (and also what exactly caused the issue) I have searched both email accounts (including trash and spam and all mail) and it isn't appearing anywhere... searched/looked in thunderbird desktop and both email accounts online and it has gone ... Thanks

When composing emails in Thunderbird for Android, I can't find any options to format text.

I can't select a typeface (even the most basic html tags for serif/sans-serif/monospace aren't available) or even make text bold, italic or underlined.

This makes it very hard to create emphasis where necessary, and it feels like ancient emails from before HTML formatting.

Is there something I am missing, or does this depend on the phone?

NB: I can do this with my messaging apps and the Gmail app, which I prefer not to use.

Server returned p-input003.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net connection rejected see www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/18.88.32.140 aup#out-1230

I have spent over an hour with Spectrum and all my server settings are correct. Incoming server connects.

Spamhaus says not block listing for 18.88.32.140 but I can't connect to see why Thunderbird is trying to connect to this site. Spectrum has nothing in their files on this site.

How do I get Thunderbird to go to Spectrum servers instead of this site?

BTW my Gmail account works but I could not get Samsung email to configure either but it didn't give any errors just failed to connect.

Hi, When my inboxes are unified I see notifications get delay, and When I turned them back to individual inbox view I see notifications delivered at standard interval..

I'm on Android, simply configured Gmail and outlook for Thunderbird.. Sometimes i get delayed notifications - don't know why ??

Sometimes say Microsoft incoming server fetched failed - like that similar it says...

How can I get the notifications at right time.. What would be the settings i should make..

Lately I found that each folder should be configured like [sync to be off] [push to be enable].. I've done that... What else in that menu we should make on/off . [attached screenshot]

I just thiught to have email notification delivered on right time.
