Thanks for the information this talks only about bookmarks i am looking for Browsing data like passwords, history, cookies etc.. not in bookmarks...
Using the Import function in Firefox should give you options to import Bookmarks, History, and Cookies from Chrome:
- See --> http://techdows.com/2011/12/how-to-import-chrome-bookmarks-browsing-history-cookies-and-other-data-into-firefox.html
- EDIT (Added): The above is currently available in Firefox 11 (Aurora, currently) only
Importing Passwords does not appear to be possible as an automatic process because of the differences in the way the Passwords are stored in the two browsers. In the following article (which appears to have been published on 2011-12-02), there are 2 copy methods, depending on how many passwords you have, followed by the manual, one-by-one method to get them into Firefox. (Most likely, a similar process would apply going from Firefox to Chrome)

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:
- Plug-in check --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
- Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in: Installing (or Updating) the Shockwave plugin with Firefox
- Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape: Installing/Updating Adobe Reader in Firefox
- Shockwave Flash (Adobe Flash or Flash): Updating Flash in Firefox

for importing bookmarks and history i tried the said procedure.. but the problem is Chrome is listed to select. so was not able to do it. not sure whether i have some problem with either chrome or ff installation.
for passwords.. Chrome does have a better import process for importing passwords from firefox (actually i had a problem with firefox.. so i migrated to chrome some time back and imported all passwords to chrome with ease).
and i will try these plug-ins. i installed FF just now so no plug-ins :)
Sorry, you and I did not read the article http://techdows.com/2011/12/how-to-import-chrome-bookmarks-browsing-history-cookies-and-other-data-into-firefox.html thoroughly. Near the end of the first paragraph it says "...now Chrome migration feature has been added to Firefox 11 Aurora which allows to import Chrome cookies, bookmarks, browsing history, passwords and other data...". So it appears that feature is not available in Firefox 9-10. All you can do is import Bookmarks using the HTML file as posted by Swarnava above or you can install Firefox 11 Aurora (1) which should only be used by experienced testers who can handle some glitches and (2) it will be moved from the Aurora channel to the Beta channel on or shortly after 2012-01-31 and the final release version should occur about mid-March 2012.
