My f3 key used to bring up a little bar on the bottom of the screen whenever I hit it. This bar would let me type text into it and if that typed text appeared anywhere on the page I was on it would become highlighted. Now, the bar still comes up, but rather than letting me search all text, it says it is on "Quick Find" and will only search links. I would like to have it search all text again.

You need to use Ctrl+F (Find) the first time, not F3 (Find Again).

F3 works for me to open the Find Bar on WinXP and Firefox 3.6/4.0. Don't have Win7, so I can't check it there.
