I have this tab open that I am unable to close using normal procedures, but I don't want to close the others. How can I close it?

Are you getting alert boxes pop up when you try to close the tab? If that is the case try temporarily disabling JavaScript and then close the tab. To do that, in the Tools menu select Options to open the options window. In the options window go to the content panel and de-select the setting "Enable JavaScript", then close the options window and try to close the tab. You can re-enable JavaScript afterwards.
