can't set up new account in Thunderbird - authentication error "exchange auth error" (bug1975860)
I created 3 new email accounts with my ISP. They work as webmail, but I want to bring them into Thunderbird on my desktop. When I try to do NEW ACCOUNT, I get the message there is an authentication error and check my email and password "exchange auth error" it says. But I know the accounts work on the web. I want to bring the messages into my computer.
- Question 1: Is there a maximum number of email accounts you can have in Thunderbird? I presently have 6 but I am going to be closing 3 of them and replacing them with the new accounts after I do the address changes.
- Question 2: Could it be that I am using the same account name in both systems? I had medresearch@dejazzd.com which I will be closing. I am trying to create [edited from public] @gomadison.com (the new address). Is that causing a problem?
- Question 3: There used to a place in Thunderbird NEW ACCOUNT to do a manual or custom installation. If I can get to that link, my ISP will help me.
- Question4: Is there a phone number I can call in Mozilla or pay for support to be able to call? Thank you.

First, do this: go to settings>general and UNtick the experimental setup wizard and retry your setups. see attached.
On your questions: - there is no limit to the number of accounts - I don't understand number 2 - yes, with the experimental setup disabled, there is a manual setup feature available - no phone numbers. remember, thunderbird is free.
