Version 128 shouldn't be able to run on Sonoma, per https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/128.0esr/system-requirements/

But as long as it is: 1) do you have lots of tags? 2) what View are you using? (View > Layout) 3) see wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Memory_Usage_Problems
