Cannot FILTER from synchronized IMAP folder to Local Folder
I can move msgs via the Right Click dropdown menu, so why won't a Filter do it automatically for me? Its working on a full copy of the message (because its Synchronized) , so its not a matter of trying to contact the IMAP server and getting the message before simply moving it from one place on my hard drive to another.

As already mentioned IMAP does not work like POP. IMAP folders are a virtual copy of server, so in effect the folders are one and the same. When you want to do anything with an email in an Imap folder there will be communication with server. The idea of Imap is that emails are stored on the server and you get a view of them. Synschronising to get a fully downloaded copy means you are able to read those emails when in offline mode.
re :I can move msgs via the Right Click dropdown menu, As imap folder is synchronised and has already downloaded a full copy of the email, you can then choose to 'move' the email.
'Move' is really not the best option as it will move it out of the imap folder and therefore delete off the server. So you only end up with one copy in 'Local folders' mail account.
If you really need copies of emails to act like a backup or to release space on server due to to high quota, I would suggest you go into offline mode and syncronise folder so it is fully updated. Then whilst in Offline mode - highlight emails and choose 'Copy to' and then choose a suitable folder in 'Local Folders' mail account.
Regarding the current filter... Are you Synchronising folders, going into Offline mode and then manually running a Message filter to create copies in Local Folders ? This may be an option.
It is a different kettle of fish if you are trying to do Message Filter automatically on new mails whilst synchronising is occuring as there is communication with server in operation and the email may not have been fully downloaded, at worst you could end up with only moving headers of emails to Local Folders that do not have any body content and at the same minute deleting that same email off the server which could be a loss of email. It is not the same as POP.
You could try using the Message Filter option to run filter after junk classification and strongly advise you use the action 'Copy to' and not 'move'.
I personally would only perform a 'copy to' after synchronising (not during synchronising) and only in 'offline' mode.

Useful details. AFAIK Synchronization is continuous, does TB have a "synchronize now" command?
Then COPY while offline... that would be a pain, but workable until I can find a POP provider. Would a TB Filter function properly when offline? Then manually Select All and Delete. Move would be easier.
Free POP is not acceptable, I don't want ads & I want accountability for my data & privacy & phone tech support. Search is spammy with "10 best email providers" & does not respect my "POP" criteria:

Another stupid problem -- even after I copy an IMAP to Local Folders, I cannot EDIT THE SUBJECT line.
WTF? This is absolutely necessary for making emails searchable; people send stupid & duplicate subject lines.

Then search for an add-on that might do it for you. Otherwise you are out of luck.
