Updated Developer to version 63.0b6 (64-bit) & Bookmark toolbar disappeard even though still checled to display

The bookmark toolbar giving me links to my favorite sites fas disappeared. The option to display it is still selected and it shows briefly (flashes) when Firefox loads but then it just disappears. How can I get it back? I have already restored the bookmarks from a backup but that made no difference.
