Adware or some form of it. Hopefully, just adblock will suffice to remove the issue, but if you need help with removing the potential malware, you can try these steps:

1. Check your browser for any add-ons or extensions you do not recognize and remove them. 2. Check your installed programs and see if there isn't anything suspicious that was installed lately (If there is, simply remove them). 3. Install any popular antivirus and do a quick scan (Majority of the providers do have free versions of their software). Or just use Windows Defender. It works really well in most cases. 4. Install and scan your PC with Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro to clean most adware.

Hi

What is the advert for?

Can you provide a screenshot?

I have a screenshot. Can't figure out how to post it though.

It's for Nike shoes. Just a page asking for a shop click.

Ok.

I might be able to load it here on my device. Which site were you looking at?

(I am offline on Wednesday night (UK time), back on Thursday evening)

Nike shoes. Can I email a Screenshot? It has appeared on TalkingPointsMemo, CrooksandLiars, and RawStory. It is full page with no options but to shop. I have to close page, restart. Then close again as it wont allow me to read article.

I can see that these might be a security issue since all of those mentioned sites have a little less security than other sites. Seburo may also have some more suggestions, but my first would be to run a malware scan to clean up what is causing the shopping ad you are experiencing.

I can also recommend Ad Block Plus, an add on that helps block unwanted content.

I've added adblock plus. Will wait and see.

Thank you.
