import/export menu has import options greyed out

I am trying to migrate emails from windows live mail to Thunderbird. I have installed 45.2.0 of Thunderbird, and the latest add-on for import/export. Under tools i can click on the main import/export fly-out, but all the import options are greyed out. Can anyone suggest how to get these options enabled.

Ọ̀nà àbáyọ Tí a Yàn

I think you may need to select a suitable folder to import into before you are allowed to start the import process. Local Folders is the usual safe bet here.
