I am currently using firefox as my browser and it has numerous favourties stored. HOw do I transfer my account to the new computer and the favourites please?

To add on to the above: Firefox can create portable bookmark files in two formats: a compressed backup file, which is more complete (for example, it includes tags you may have attached to individual bookmarks), and an HTML export format, which is cross-browser compatible and easily readable as a web page. I suggest creating files in both formats just in case something goes wrong with one of the files.

I recommend you have a read of this article that will explain a couple of different ways to move your bookmarks to another computer.
