The autocomplete function in my search bar no longer works
I have the latest version 44.0.2 of Firefox.
The autocomplete function no longer operates in my address bar as it used to: e.g. if I previously typed "mych" it automatically completed is as "mychemist.com.au" now what it does it presents a down sub menu that says "mychem-search with google"
How do I restore the autocomplete the way it used to work, please. I am not a computer savvy person, so please a simple solution if possible or I will be unable to do it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Anthony

You can set browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete to false to remove the Visit page suggestion from the location bar drop down list.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Dear cor-el
Thank you once again for your help. I was scared stiff when I saw what was involved to fix it up. I told you I was not real computer savvy. However, I followed your direction and set it to false and it now works as it always did.
I am curious as to how this happened in the first place when I have never reset that line to true. Can you enlighten me, please for my interest?
Again thank you for all your help.
Anthony
