Unable to add personal Hotmail/Outlook.com account via IMAP with OAuth2 Hi, I'm unable to add my personal Microsoft account (@hotmail.com) to Thunderbird via IMAP despite trying every solution I could find. My setup:

Thunderbird (latest version), macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 Account: personal @hotmail.com

What I have tried:

Manual IMAP configuration with both smtp-mail.outlook.com and smtp.outlook.com as outgoing server OAuth2 authentication — the Microsoft login window opens, I successfully log in, but Thunderbird still throws "Unable to log in at server" Enabled cookies for all Microsoft domains (outlook.com, login.live.com, login.microsoftonline.com) in Privacy & Security settings Enabled 2FA on my Microsoft account and generated an App Password, then tried with Normal password authentication — same error Toggled the experimental Account Hub off and on, tried both the new and old account creation flows Restarted Thunderbird multiple times between attempts

What works: My institutional Microsoft 365 account (@hnu.de) connects and syncs perfectly with identical IMAP/OAuth2 settings. The issue appears to be specific to personal Hotmail/Outlook.com accounts. Has anyone successfully connected a personal Hotmail account recently? Any help is appreciated.

Trying to get the mobil version to work. Can the mobil version coexist with the PC version? I tried leaving messages on server, but no joy. Got through the setup OK, but the mobile version want a signon to Google

I use Thunderbird to store loacally some email from gmail and delete it from the online server.

Until october last year it was working flawless, to day I need to read an old email and I discovered that locally since october of some email is only stored the subject and somtime I only have the ticker that increase in the stored email email, but there is either not title or subject. I didn't change any setting in my computer or in the antivirus,, the only thing is that I perform the update of thunderbird as usual. Is it possible to recover these emails or they are gone forever?

I am trying to re-install THUNDERBIRD I have done this several times before but Google is causing problems When I reenter my Name email address and password Thunderbird finds the email but then it takes me to google and I have to click allow but then it takes me back to the email install and then tells me it cannot find the Email address with the settings

I have 2 email addresses and it does the same with both so Thunderbird does not now work on a Computer that I have used Thunderbird for Years

I accidentally archived multiple messages today that I had deliberately kept in my inbox for attending to later. My archive folder is set to "All Mail" unfortunately. Can I sort the messages in All Mail by date archived? It will be a massive task for me to find them otherwise as the messages I want to retrieve are up to 2 years old

This happens erratically, not every time. Annoying when trying to select a message to delete and the one before or after or both also deletes at same time. Now I have to go and retrieve it back to inbox. Checked in settings and cant find a solution. Also looked in pad and mouse settings to no avail. Seems to have started in last 2 or 3 months, can't be specific of time line.

My correspondents keep getting shuffled and applied to the wrong subject line in the inbox. It was suggested that I right-click on the folder, select "properties" and then "repair." That clears it up, but only for a matter of hours. Plus, any emails that I have open get closed and then I have to find them again.

One person who suggested that I right-click the folder and repair it said if that didn't work, there was a more technical fix. I need it!

When I open my Inbox on Thunderbird for Android, the notifications are still displayed even after I close out of the app. So I have to always go back and manually swipe away all the notifications.

I select multiple messages to delete, and it doesn't delete all of them. I have to go back and select again to delete the remaining messages. Sometimes more than once.

Okay. So, I changed my email password on my email server, HIS.COM (Heller Information Services, a local email server company in Bethesda, MD.) I am able to access my email on webmail, (which I hate to use), on both my laptop and on my desktop. Yesterday, I could access it on my desktop, but not my laptop. Just now, I was trying to uninstall and install Thunderbird on my laptop and it would keep just rebooting my old non-working program. Then, the worst possible thing happened. By screwing around on my laptop program, I somehow knocked out my desktop Thunderbird, and it no longer works. I am happy to pay for help. I just made a donation. I need someone to call me and walk me through this. I think I changed something that I cannot change back.

Unfortunately I deleted a folder, containing a lot of subfolders from my Local Folders. If possible I would like to restore the folder, including the subfolders.

Any help is much appreciated.

I apologize for the subject line, but there is no better way to describe the problem....

I've been using Thunderbird for a few months now and it has mostly worked well. Then this afternoon I was reading my mail in the Unified Inbox and I noticed something very odd. I had a number of emails showing in the header list with the same "From" and various subject lines. On the face of it, that wouldn't describe any weird behavior except that I noticed the subject lines absolutely didn't match the "From" information.

As I would go to read these emails, the email itself would be correct in the preview pane -- including showing the correct sender name and email -- but the "From" information in the header list pane would still be wrong.

I'm sorry that I can't post a screenshot to make this more clear because there is just too much personal information on screen. But these emails are from several different senders, received by several different email accounts. Everything is correct except that the "From" shown in the header pane is wrong. This is very obvious to me because I normally run entirely in the Unified Inbox with the emails sorted by the "From" information

One example is an email that is actually from "U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs <do-not-reply@notifications.va.gov>" which Thunderbird displays correctly in the preview pane (where I usually read my emails) and if I open the email itself, but the header pane says this email is From "Prepper-co <joshua@prepper-co.com>"

Another example is an email that is actually from "USPS Customer Support <uspscustomersupport@usps.gov>" but the header pane says it is from "Rainier Arms

These two examples were received in different email accounts that aren't even on the same server. I have other emails from these same senders that are shown correctly

I found this problem while using 150.0 (64-bit), which said 150.0.1 was available, so I restarted Thunderbird and it updated to 150.0.1 (64-bit) but the problem is the same.
