A couple days ago when I opened Firefox, I immediately started getting pop up messages saying I had viruses. If I clicked on REMOVE VIRUS, it tried to get me to sign up with McAfee. I cannot see my full screen due to all the pop up screens. My MS Defender virus protection is not identifying any viruses.

Running on Windows 11. There are many supposed "solutions" on the Web, but none of them work. I have tried with: about:config, css files, etc. None of them work.

I like Firefox greatly, but this is so frustrating.

The developers have created a solution to a problem that didn't exist. The result is to make Firefox user clumsy.

It would have been nice if they - at the very least - had provided a way to change the 'Profiles' icon position on the menu.

Again, Firefox 153.0.1 (64-bit) on up-to-date Windows 11. Amd Ryzen 5, 6 core processor, 32 GB Ram, 500 GB SSD C drive = 197 GB free.

Toolbar disappears while choice is playing. Bounces in and out of visual without staying locked on and visible. I won't want the tool bars to EVER disappear from screen when Firefox is playing, except for home page.

When navigating to the site https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer with Firefox's built-in VPN turned on and the Location set to the United Kingdom the site still displays the message "Sorry, BBC iPlayer isn’t available in your region.". Why is this, and how can it be fixed?

I was getting a frame displaying that embedded content was blocked from x, instagram, and others. I clicked the allow routine and got the embed. Now it's all over the place, scroll, scroll, scroll, blah, blah. How do I reenable the blocking?

Hi, Apologies I've failed to find a more apt site to post this. The add-on/extension 'Remove Anything' was really useful. I have now discovered profiles and setting some up (they seem great), that and becoming a windows 11 user has caused me to have a hard look at the ones I installed. 1. 'Remove anything' has been great and I've been using it since late 2017 IIRC 2. The author ended support updates in June 2026 and updated the add-on page accordingly and pointed users to an alternative. I have to think this is best practice. We don't need many add-ons that do the same thing but kindly pointing users to a suitable alternative the author wasn't connected to was a helpful move. 3. I couldn't find a place channel to thank the author for their work but certainly appreciate it. 4. if anyone closing or casually reading sees this and could please pass on thanks from a typical domestic user to RoadrunnerWMC PLEASE Do. I greatly appreciate the volunteer efforts that created and run firefox and the big umbrella of related software, ever since the old Netscape days. That includes whoever is dealing this question. When a piece of text is drag-and-dropped onto FF, FF navigates to that text. So, when I am filling a form and accidentally drop the text outside a text field, FF navigates away from the page with the form I am trying to fill. I have been using FF for more than 10 years and never found this behavior to be useful. Only annoying and counter productive. If FF at least opened a new tab, I could close it and not lose the work done so far. But ideally there would be no navigation at all. Dropping a piece of text on a webpage should not trigger any navigation. I need a setting to disable that behavior completely. PLEASE!!! 🙏

I don't use Firefox daily, so not sure exactly when it last opened ok on my iMac (26.5.2). So I downloaded Version=153.0.1 BuildID=20260727124451, and tried again. When attempting to launch, the icon in the dock bounced a few times, then nothing. When repeated, it only bounces once.

Likely unrelated, but I had very recently upgraded my LuLu app (4.4.3) from Objective-See. It monitors outbound connections. But disabling the app changes nothing.

I'm not a MacOS guru. I expect there is an error in a log file somewhere that reveals the problem, but I don't know where to look.

Suggestions?

Firefox keeps crashig upon start-up. The tab stays open but it just says not responding.

I've tried deleting, and re-downloading, changing settings, changing and deleting profiles through profile manager. Troubleshoot doesn’t work and neither does refresh.

Other browsing apps work just fine, it's just firefox. I only had one add-on, which was AdGuard AdBlocker.

I hadn't done anything that I'm aware of, hadn't touched any settings and only had a max of 3 tabs open at a time.

I don't really know what else I can try anymore.

After an update for Firefox Developer Edition on Arch Linux (I don't know which), my URL bar doesn't show the selected text when typing or pressing Ctrl+A.

In the uploaded image, you can see i typed "e", but it doesn't highlight the entire en.wikipedia.org url. the second result still shows the e's in the URL bolded though.

I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, changing my GTK theme, and also changed my Firefox Theme, yet none work.

During the last 2 weeks, I have been unable to view and use my AOL emails, for the login page demands that I enter my mozilla primary password--the existence of which was unknown to me and thus, I never knew what it was and never had to use it in any way. I assume one was set when I began tom use firefox probably back in 2016. My big problem is that I must be able to use my AOL email system to complete various essential needs, How can I fix this idiocy that apparently places some kind of security above sane simplicity and ease of use for normal people who are not computer or Internet experts?
