persistent hacking - now dollar signs changed to euro signs (I live in USA) - help!
I've been hacked and otherwise annoyed by cyberstalker(s) for over 5 years now. This has persisted thru several different computers, repeated computer repairs, and so on. I have an idea of some of the individuals involved, but the problem comes from a group of people associated with a well-known author who holds a non-elected position in a writer's association to which I used to belong before being harassed out.
This guy is known for his abusive behavior toward other members and apparently he either finds me a threat or just plain hates me. He and his "buddies" went after me when I went through a life-threatening illness. Part of the harassment involved use of Trojan horses and alteration of anti-spyware I had installed (including Norton 360). These guys are experts and thus far have usually avoided detection. I have reported this to the police and FBI but little has changed. Further, complaints to the writer's organization indicated that (1) he has a lawyer who helps him avoid legal problems, and (2) the organization can only prosecute him if he misbehaves on their territory and during their events--which, of course, he does not. It was only after I complained to one of the venues featuring this author that the worst of the harassment ended.
The constant insulting and provocative--and at times, scam attempt--phone calls ended after I purchased a phone recording device from eBay.
HOW do I get this jackass and his self-proclaimed jeenjus buddies to leave me alone? Once this nut even came up on my front porch, thinking I wasn't there (I was), and peered in my front window! He had been telling me I was "a princess" during events, and went to the trouble of leaving an old, dirty Cinderella play stove on my porch, just to teach me a lesson, I guess.
Apparently this jerk thought I had slept with a friend of his who had told him I was "a slut." (The friend is now retired due to Alzheimer's, and of course I never slept with him.)
Now the latest 'clever' little prank was to change my eBay currency to show up as Euros, not US Dollars. This is also the case on most web sites. It's annoying, and it's also clearly intended to show me that I am still being watched.
I would note that this has all happened after I had the whole computer wiped.
I reported the jerk to eBay, which is investigating, but any other suggestions? This guy is not just irritating; he's mentally ill and may be a more serious danger. Help!
