When placing an auction on eBay, I cannot upload photos. Also, possibly because of the same problem, I can't see pictures of my friends or even my own profile picture on myyearbook.com. Both these functions work properly if I use Internet Explorer...but I would like to stay with Firebird for all my browsing needs.

For the upload issue:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

For the myyearbook issue:

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions See Settings for web content, pop-ups, fonts, and languages

  • A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (Site Identification icon) on the left side of the location bar.
  • A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
  • Open the Media tab of the "Page Info" window.
  • Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Even in Safe Mode, I still can't load photos to eBay. Actually the photos load but then Firefox doesn't respond after so I can't save my changes. I don't have this problem with IE8. I too would rather work in Firefox than IE. Thanks.

For me the problem was solved by going Tools->Options->Content Tab->Load Images Automatically->Exceptions and removing the i.ebay.com

Have no idea where that exception came from but it now lets me view images in the individual auctions but once removed, I can now view images in ebay.

This was after starting Firefox in Safe Mode and turning off Add Ons and Reset Options to default. Those changes did not help.

I think you are right but where do I find the context menu to Un-Block "Blocked images" (amateur!!) Done! Thanks for your help - in a previous answer.
