Outlook Calendar and Contact Sync – When Will It Be Available?
Hello Thunderbird community,
I’ve been exploring Thunderbird’s integration options and noticed that while email sync with Outlook accounts works fine, calendar and contact synchronization with Outlook/Exchange Online is currently unavailable.
This is a significant limitation for users who rely on Outlook’s ecosystem for scheduling and address book management. I’d like to ask:
Is there an official roadmap for when Outlook calendar sync will be supported in Thunderbird?
Will Outlook contacts sync be added at the same time, or as a separate feature?
I believe many users would benefit from clarity on this, since full Outlook integration is critical for those working in Microsoft-centric environments.
Thanks in advance to the Thunderbird team and volunteers for any updates or guidance.

This is only a limitation to those that choose to use proprietary Microsoft products and protocols. I understand that work is progressing on a lot of exchange support but this is not the place to learn about road maps or future plans. I suggest you look at the published roadmap. https://developer.thunderbird.net/planning/roadmap
Note that the 2026 roadmap has not yet been published. and the 2025 has been removed. (I have no idea why so do not ask)
For those working in Microsoft shops, their employer provides the software from Microsoft that allows seamless management of information and integration via Microsoft office.
For the rest there is the cardbook addon. with the attendant Microsoft EAS extensions https://services.addons.thunderbird.net/En-gb/thunderbird/addon/eas-4-tbsync/
Davmail has been doing a good job or providing an exchange interface using standards compliant protocols for many years. It is probably 10 years since I last used it. But that was because I closed gown my exchange server, not because of issues with davmail.

Ok. I will use the Outlook Mail app. 😉
Outlook calendar and contacts can be synced in TB 140ESR with the TbSync/Provider for EAS add-ons. When you add the account, select MS Office 365 (see picture).
