Receipt of emails and copuing to draft folder
Thunderbird quit receiving messages June 25th and quit copying messages to the sent folder at the same time. Are they connected somehow?
I have checked my settings and they are all the same as they were before this happened and are correct.
When I click on "Get Messages" these five quick messages appear in rapid succession:
Looking for imap.pldi.net Looked for imap.pldi.net Connecting to imap.pldi.net Connected to imap.pldi.net Checking email server capabilities
then goes away and no messages received.
Regarding copying messages to drafts I get this with each message I send.
"Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your Sent Folder due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent (my email address)" with buttons "Retry" "Save" "Don't Save."
The message remains on the screen until I click "Save" and the message goes away.
I believe all of this happened with the last Thunderbird update, but I'm not real sure.

I am having almost the same problem with only ONE of several email accounts. Thunderbird is not reading emails from this account to the inbox, where other email apps (Edison mail on android phone) do. Other email accounts on Tbird appear to be displaying inboxes OK. Same issue with sending - they are sent OK but not sent to the "sent" folder, with same message as Joe Cool. So it looks like it is an issue specific to Thunderbird?
Should have added, when clicking on "get messages" icon I do NOT get the same rapid sequence of "looking for" etc messages.
