Don't cram unwanted "features" like trending searches. Anything I want to search for I type in. What others search for I do want to see or be bothered with. Your how-to does not work to disable it. I want my search window in the center, it is my phone, my eyes, don't fugg with it.

Go to Settings -> Search -> and turn off Suggestions from search engines.
