I am using thunderbird in New zealand home and timezone settings, and when I invite NZ people to a new event it automatically creates a calendar entry for UTC

I bought my laptop in the UK and installed Thunderbird there initially, but then moved to NZ and reset the home location and time zone accordingly. However, when I send invites to an event it resets the calendar invite for the recipient to UTC/GMT. My calendar entry and invite record still shows what I was entering, but their end does not. And its the same in reverse, they send me something for 3pm, I receive it as 3am.

was in the options, in two places but cannot recall both now, one set Pacific/Auckland, the other UTC +12 as I recall.

Seems to have resolved, but I had to reschedule all my existing events to NZ time manually.

Cheers
