I updated my Mac to macOS Golden Gate. Tried to update Firefox from a non-admin account. It failed. Went to admin account, deleted Firefox and reinstalled from a new dmg download. All fine in the admin account. But the non-admin account (where I work day to day) won't even launch a Firefox window. It asks for admin access to install a helper. I can't see why it needs this but have given it via username and password, but it still doesn't launch. The dock icon says "Running in Background" when I hover over Firefox and the icon bounces. But no browser window

Hi I noticed that some old links in my history are automatically deleted. How to configure expiration rules (if possible) in order to keep links forever, until manual deletion? I know that links can be saved in the bookmarks, but when browsing the Internet, unless bookmarking everything :(, no one knows if a link can be useful in the future.

Since the recent updates, 1-2 weeks, every time I try to enter a character via Unicode insertion, CTRL+ALT+U, the character does not insert but a row break. I made a video about it: https://youtu.be/OP9UCGpZdEc

This happens in every website I use; mostly likely on every website.

Is there anything I can do now?

t takes 4 or more time to open Firefox browser. Each time I get a message that said Firefox is not responding and this locks up the programs. I reboot the systems each time and this does not help to open Firefox browser. What is causing this malfunction and how to fix it?

About a month or so, opening tabs changed. It's more annoying and less convenient now for no clear reason.

Before, when I opened 20 links in new tabs, the existing tabs were pushed to the left. Now, the new tabs disappear to the right, and I need to scroll the tabs list to see them.

This makes researching things annoying. Especially when I'm trying to find anything useful among tons of useless search results. Normally, I would see every tab that I opened. I could always instantly see by the number of open tabs and domains if I should continue the search. No tabs? I haven't found enough. Same domain? I'm probably running in circles.

To replicate this workflow, now I'd have to manually scroll every time I open a new tab, which would be mighty annoying.

Meanwhile, there's no advantage to seeing my old tabs rather than new tabs. The new tabs are always more important in the moment because I just opened them.

Can this be changed back to old behaviour in about:config, or by some arcane profile hacking?

Not sure if anyone else has realized this but Akamai / Edgesuite is using its algorithms to force people to stop using fire fox The reason that I see this is that I run a server with almost 100 web sites on it and Firefox has dropped from being quite significant a couple of years back. This is from one site of the almost 100 but is quite typical.

There are a number of requests opened about this but the only solution seems to be to switch to chrome. A massive number of major store sites are now using akamai / edgesuite and almost no-one using firefox can visit their stores now because of an error produced and there does not appear a simple solution for a person to even reach them. Some of the stores are Lowes, Tractor Supply, CVS, and others.

I'm talking about Firefox version 156.0 (64-bit)??? So since the last Windows 10 security update Firefox just wouldn't start anymore. I had two or three automatic refreshments of Firefox but even that didn't do the trick anymore in the end. Then there was a secundary Windows 10 update and I got everything running smoothly again for two days, and now today there was a Firefox update and the whole trouble started again. Even some sites wouldn't work anymore (outlook, DeepL) or I couldn't login anymore. I'll try going back to a previous version ...

I been using FireFox for at least a decade I am really disappointed in it's current state. It is very slow OIS is Version 26.6.2 (25G83). Constantly telling me it can't find server when I hit an website link? Also frequently says secure connection? I want my FireFox back.

Just wondering if it was possible to use the native widget on the taskbar to view at all times.

I enjoy using the premodor timer and would like to see the time at all times.

Hello! Newly downloaded Firefox and was prompted about the free built-in VPN through the toolbar button. After multiple attempts, I am stuck in a loop. I hit the button to "Get Started," sign in to my account, and then the process starts again.

I have tried all the troubleshooting that I have found and I am at a loss. Has it just not rolled out to me yet?
