Firefox crashes whenever I open a google image search

For the last 3 weeks whenever I have tried to perform a google image search on any string it causes firefox to crash. Firefox has been my preffered browser for around 3 years but if I can't figure out how to stop this happening I am likely to change to another browser.

I am running windows XP and have used google image search without difficulty for many years.
