My Website isn't working properly on firefox

malcolmparked

I’ve noticed a strange problem in Firefox where some images on a website don’t always load the first time. The page itself loads normally, but occasionally a few product images are just blank. Refreshing the page usually makes them appear. I’ve been noticing this while working on a site I maintain, for example on some of the product pages here https://emcindustrial.com

What’s odd is that I can’t seem to reproduce it consistently. The same pages work normally in Chrome and Edge, and sometimes Firefox loads everything perfectly too. I’ve already tried clearing the cache and checking with extensions disabled, but I’m still seeing it occasionally.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause Firefox to load the page but fail to load individual images? Is there something specific I should check in the Network or Console tools when it happens? 1st image is what's showing on firefox, 2nd is how it should be ( showing on chrome)

Maybe you've modified this already; I didn't see it before.

That row of images uses lazy loading, meaning that the images are initially not displayed -- an SVG "image" placeholder (the URL is in the srcset attribute at load) is displayed -- and then based on a triggering event, typically scrolling, the real images will be displayed.

It is working for me in a quick test in Firefox 159.0.

The server sends me avif format images, in case that matters in your test browser.

Perhaps there are some situations where the triggering event is not detected by the script or not generated by Firefox. Or maybe there is some caching issue. I haven't looked at it closely enough to have any ideas.
