This issue suggests that Firefox is set as the default app for opening image files. To fix it, right-click on an image file, select Open with → Choose another app, pick Photos (or your preferred app), check Always use this app, and click OK. If the issue persists, reset default apps by going to Settings → Apps → Default apps → Photos, then set it as the default for images.
