Thunderbird has decided to spell my name wrongly after automatic transfer to a new computer.
I have just transferred my Thunderbird email data to a new computer. Now in the listing of emails received it shows my name wrongly spelt. I can't find anywhere in my transferred account settings where this spelling mistake actually occurs. It is the kind of mistake that a native speaker of English would make when they see my name. How can Thunderbird have made this mistake in a completely automatic transfer? Disturbing and unnerving. Is this AI deciding that I spell my own name wrongly maybe? Please help if you can.

First, I doubt I can answer this. But, to get a useful response here, I suggest posting in detail how you did the transfer. Also, explain exactly what was changed, such as email address or the name as it appears in the Default Identity section of the account pane. Showing what it was originally, and what it shows now may also be helpful. Thank you.
Thank you David, that was quick. The transfer was purely through installing Thunderbird on the new computer and letting Thunderbird do its thing. I didn't enter anything anywhere, just let it happen. There's nothing to see anywhere I'm afraid, except that just now when I searched my emails for something, the display name was wrong. I then checked all possible places where my name could be entered, and made one small change, not a correction (just 'Jan' to 'Janet' , but that was all I could do. It was my surname that was wrongly spelt anyway. Weirdly, I've just looked again at where it occurred, and now the spelling error has been corrected. I think it really was an AI mistake. I can't imagine any other cause. I'm afraid I didnÄt take a screen shot of the original situation, as I didn't think it would leave so quickly. Please tell Thunderbird I do donate, just not every time I get a message to do so. Kind regards and thank you. Janet
