When selecting PGP to encrypt an email, SMIME is selected automatically

Hi! I have a valid SMIME certificate and a valid private and public GPG key imported into Thunderbird. When I try to write an email to myself and signing and encrypting it it switches to SMIME every time I click „encrypt“. I can only select GPG, if I only sign my message and do not encrypt it.

Any hints? Is there a mechanism which technology is prefered?
