stop thunderbird from trying to log into removed account

I have removed an email account from Thunderbird but Thunderbird continues to try to log into that account. It keeps asking me to key-in the credentials for that account. Why is that the case? That accound is now defunct and cannot be logged in.

How can i stop Thunderbird from trying to log into that removed and defunct account?

Hi, I have solved the problem. It was a calendar lightning syncing add-in that was trying to log into the removed account. I have disabled the add-in.
