Hi,

Recently when I click on a YouTube video, an error message shows on the screen saying: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more" with a black background. I am pretty sure all of you guys have experienced it at least once. However, this phenomenon occurs every time I click a video. I cleared my cookies, updated my Adobe flash player, enabled java script, and updated Firefox. But these did not solve my problems. Help me out please!

Hi junlee_23, There are two work arounds that I know of. It is possible to disable hardware acceleration in Flash as well as disable flash player and try the HTML5 player.

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

In order to disable the player you can go to add ons and click on plugins. There you can set "Always Activate" to "Always Ask"

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

Thanks for your help.

However, after I followed the steps from 1 to 7, I could not access to the Youtube page. Does this have to do something with disabling the hardware acceleration?
