Can't stop "check plug-in page" from appearing
I have utilized all of the solutions listed in the support pages. I am still getting a check plug-in page. How do I disable it??? I am using Firefox 16.0.2.

Hi,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Unfortunately I am still having the "plugin check and update" page appear. It continues to tell me that Adobe Acrobat needs to be updated. I can't even FIND Acrobat on my PC. I have Adobe Reader. I did reset Firefox but am still getting the page.
Is it the Firefox warning, or is it another third-party page, perhaps a security software or PC updater software?? You can also try to Restore to default the Home Page in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > General, if there are extra entries that were not manually added.
Please also create a screenshot of the problem you're seeing by following the guide mentioned at How do I create a screenshot of my problem?.
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

I have also tried the restore to default on the homepage. I still get 2 open firefox pages (one being the plugin page). I am unable to do a screenshot of the page - but it is Firefox's page, not a third party's. And I don't even have adobe acrobat on my pc!
