Greetings one and all,

Some while back we were experiencing problems viewing the output from our Tenvis IPROBOT3 CCTV cameras in Firefox. After much trial and error it was discovered that by right clicking on the blacked out video window in FF and selecting "Direct Draw" as opposed to the default "Direct 3D" option solved the problem.

However, on the display page for the cameras there is an option to show multiple cameras by splitting the video display into 4 segents so that the cameras can be viewed in one window rather than having to have multiple windows open. Now, if you select multiple cameras (2 in our case) from the viewer, the above solution does not work as you are unable to select Direct Draw and the four segments remain blacked out.

Any idea how to solve this as the multiple camera option works OK in IE???

Thanks

I am not sure if there are advanced settings for graphics that may be more appropriate, but initially you could try in Firefox's safemode. Hold the shift key whilst starting up for instance. See

If that works then maybe it will work if hardware acceleration is disabled

You may also wish to create and use a a separate Firefox profile for the use of the cameras

It is even possible with multiple profiles and the commandline argument -no-remote to run two separate Firefox instances, at the same time. That would enable you have one instance for the video feeds and another for ordinary browsing.

Note use -no-remote only on the extra profile not on the main default profile.

Many thanks for the input/suggestions ... however, after further testing none of the above seems to help, so I guess that as far as the cameras are concerned it'll have to be IE :( When I come back from hols, the Tenvis cameras are heading for the bin and I'm switching to Sricams!
