why does bookmark drop down show up when I try to type in search bar?
When I try to enter anything into the search bar at the top of my FireFox startpage, it will not accept anything I'm typing but brings out a bookmark dropdown. I just want to to search.

hello GMCGDC,
I am sorry but I dont think it is the bookmark toolbar that you are talking about instead the search engine suggestion dropdown. Can you please confirm it.
If it is the search engine suggestion dropdown, you can disable it by typing in the AddressBar "about:preferences#search" and uncheck all the search engine selected under "One-click Search Engines". Check and keep us updated.
Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
