The first time i'm installing Firefox it quickly made me fall in love with this browser and wanted to fully migrate from Chrome to Firefox, it's more lightweight, has more customization, fully private & secure. But there is only one thing that made me just almost migrate to Firefox, or just 99% complete transitioning to Firefox, and that is me unable downloading. Yes, thats it and it's pretty annoying. I just able downloading pictures, but not when i'm downloading an apps or software like Discord for example. PLEASE HELP ME, MY LAPTOP (X240) IS VERY OLD AND I NEED EVERY PERFORMANCE ON MY LAPTOP FOR WORKSTATION PLUS WITH THIS RAM PRICES (ykwim). Tomorrow i'm planning to switch to Linux (Mint MATE) and i have to do dual-boot just incase there is some software i'm unable to use at Linux. So please, help me. Give each step with no technical explanation, and use beginner languange so i'm easier to understand.

When I search a topic and a Youtube video appears in the search results it won't connect via the hyperlink to youTube. I doesn't give any message it just doesnt connect.

I had FF set up with a full page of frequently used link icons. When I ran CCleaner, it caused all of them to disappear. I've tried following the links, but have had no success so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All bookmarks and history lost. Have spent over 2 hours following the steps outlined as a standard treatment for this problem, attributed to another program interfering with Firefox Profiles or bookmarks. Restarts of Firefox and PC failed to restore, Going to Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks fails because when you get to the Library window for Import or Restore and select profile (I show 3 right now, all tagged as .default), there is no way in the window to accomplish a restore. You can insert a profile in the open window but there is no way to activate the restore function. Likewise when I accessed the list of 15 prior bookmark files I had the same result with the restore window. The instructions do not make any sense to me. Need somebody to contact me directly and walk through problem via phone call.

I have lost all bookmarks on a new laptop. Recently added C Cleaner and did a scan. That may have caused the problem. But, now I cannot recover the bookmarks, nor can I save new bookmarks. The version of Firefox on my android phone has the bookmarks. I can see them. But, I do not see a way to sync the devices and import the data to my laptop.

Please advise.

Hello everyone. I make backups of folder "bookmarkbackups" in Firefox profile folder, so that when I have to make a restore after a data loss (for whatever reason), I can also restore my bookmarks. I'd like to be able to restore my extensions too, and to do this it would be enough to have a backup of the list of extensions I had installed before the trouble happened. However, if I backup the subfolder "extensions" of the profile folder, I would have a list of files the name of which looks like:

FirefoxColor@mozilla.com.xpi idcac-pub@guus.ninja.xpi uBlock0@raymondhill.net.xpi vpn@proton.ch.xpi {3d92ddc3-5581-453f-ad9f-d9ea864d1f9a}.xpi {531906d3-e22f-4a6c-a102-8057b88a1a63}.xpi

..so that in most cases I cannot guess the extension name from the file name. My purpose is to install manually the extensions in the new browser installation, once I have the list of the extensions. Moreover, in that folder you find all the extensions, both the ones which were active, and the ones which were inactive... But I'd like to have a list of the active ones so that I can re-install only that ones.

Does anyone know how can I get such a list, starting from the profile folder?

I need a more permanent fix to the disappearing bookmarks issue when the file is in use by another entity. I have tried to fix it, read the instructions and when I start to apply the fix, the instructions disappear and now I have to depend on my faulty memory.

My Firefox is not showing search suggestions/autocomplete when I search for a term in the search bar. First screenshot is what I see, second screenshot is from Chrome. Third screenshot is my settings.

I would like to continue using Firefox, but this is extremely infuriating.

I want to print some labels, but when I print them, they always com sideways. Even when I change them settings on the printer, to print it not sideways.

I tried using the new profile system, but it totally F**d me over. I can no longer access I site I've been using for years because the profile system kicked me out of it and now I cannot get back in because Firefox is telling me it's an un-secured connection. I don't care. I put it on the exception list, but that did not work to let me back in again. Help, please.

I am experiencing a critical Firefox Sync issue and would like to request your assistance.

I recently installed Firefox on a new Windows system and signed in using the same Firefox Account that I have used for a long time. Although my account shows recent activity (last connection around mid-February), none of my synced data has been restored on the new installation.

The missing data includes:

Saved passwords (logins)

Bookmarks

Firefox preferences/settings

I have carefully checked the Sync logs (about), and they indicate that collections for passwords, bookmarks, history, and preferences do exist on the Sync server. However, the new profile does not download or apply these records, and Sync appears to treat the new local profile as authoritative.

I suspect that repeated sign-ins and sync attempts from a fresh profile may have caused my previous data to be overwritten or made inaccessible, even though the server still reports existing collections.

Given the importance of this data, I would like to ask:

Is it possible to restore my Firefox Sync data (passwords, bookmarks, and preferences) from a snapshot or server-side state from approximately 20 days ago?

Is there any way to force a full restore from the server instead of uploading the empty local profile?

Are server-side backups or recovery options available in cases like this?

I fully understand that Firefox Sync uses end-to-end encryption, but since the data was previously accessible under the same account, I am hoping there may still be a recovery option.

Please let me know if you need any additional information, logs, or identifiers from my account or device to investigate further.

Recently the use of Ctrl+D to open the Edit Bookmark box (save bookmark) stopped working properly: On first press of Ctrl+D nothing happens, then if I press Ctrl+D a second time, the box appears??? The weird thing is that once the box appears with the second press, any subsequent use of Ctrl+D will work the way it should. Windows 11 with no new extensions etc.

I only cleared the cookie for Blogger and cleared my cache. I was logged out of Facebook, Grok, ChatGPT, Linked in and X and possibly more websites I haven't visited yet. I wasn't logged out of Google I don't think. I don't use Google for logging in anywhere and cookies aren't cleared when I close my browser.

I’m experiencing the following issue:

When I open Password Manager (about:logins), the page is completely blank.

This problem started about three months ago, after I updated Firefox to a newer version.

Currently, on the about:logins page, I can export all my accounts and passwords as a CSV file (so the data clearly exists), but nothing is displayed on the page itself.

I also tried importing the same CSV file (exported from about:logins) back into Firefox. After importing, all accounts and passwords appear in the left panel. However, when I click on any item, the right panel is still blank. If I close the page and open about:logins again, the items still do not load.

My current Firefox version is 147.0.

How can I solve this problem?

ok when I up date my lap top and it is time to go pay my bill I have to verify who I am they do not recognize me????? It' a pain in the ass...... I have to get pass numbers etc. to prove who I am. M. Rivero
