Hi all,

I'd like to return to using Firefox, but I need Google Sheets for my work, and this bug makes it unusable. Basically, here's what happens: I click on an empty cell, press "=", and then click on another cell (e.g., "=A1"). After pressing + or *, the text cursor jumps back between the selected cell and the + or *.

This bug only occurs in the Firefox browser; all other browsers work fine. I don't have any extensions installed. I haven't used Firefox for about 2 or 3 years, but I thought I'd give it another try, and the bug still persists. I cannot explain it because it's even happening on a new PC with a new Google account. I tried the same on my girlfriend's PC, and the bug also appeared.

I have already checked the shortcuts for Firefox and Sheets, but there is nothing suspicious there. I also considered the keyboard layout. I live in Germany, so I have a German layout, where the + is located to the left of the Enter button, and * is created with Shift +. However, this conclusion doesn't seem to help with finding a fix, lol. (By the way, the * on the numpad works fine.)

Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?

I've just switched my keyboard layout to US, and it appears that the issue is indeed related to the German layout.

How can I resolve this?
