I am facing a persistent video playback issue specifically in Firefox (latest version), while the exact same stream works perfectly fine on Google Chrome and VLC player.

When I try to play a high-definition HLS live stream from my network provider site (vraitv.com), the video stalls and buffers every few seconds. Upon inspecting the Firefox Web Developer Console, I notice frequent NS_ERROR_NET_TIMEOUT errors during the loading of .ts video chunks, along with occasional CORS warning flags.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site. 2. Started Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (Safe Mode) with all extensions disabled. 3. Cleared all cookies and site cache.

Unfortunately, the issue persists. Are there any hidden settings in about:config (such as modifying network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server or increasing the media cache size) that can optimize how Firefox handles concurrent video chunk loading?

Any technical guidance would be highly appreciated.

How to increase buffer time for video, how to load at least 2 min of video instead of how it's now about 30 seconds. I live in the countryside and I can't change my internet speed (I tried). I have the fastest speed that they can send, but still I can't watch anything normally because it constantly stops videos to load more

When watching videos on youtube, I hold down the space bar to make it go at 2x speed, this makes the video and the audio de sync the more I hold the space bar, It's been happening for quite some time and I can't seem to find an answer as of why this happens or how to fix it.

Hello, I noticed a few times that after waking my computer up from sleep mode, I seem to lose audio from the browser completely. I look into my audio mixer and I do see the browser is giving audio, but I can't hear it through my headphones.

Last time i fixed it, I had to restart my computer and it fixed the issue, but I don't want to continue in having this issue at times. I have also tried restarting firefox by ending it in the task manager and re-opening it, but that doesn't seem to fix it.

All videos played on my FireFox browser are slowed. This happens on any video playing, including on YouTube, even when the video is on 1x speed and is not slowed. It has been getting progressively slower over the past months, and was not fixed after I uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox. Please kindly assist.

Firefox decided to not play any sound on my laptop, Spotify works on itself, if I open it in Firefox it doesn't. Same with YouTube and everything else. I use Artix Linux, I double-booted with Windows and it works on it, just not on Artix for some reason. I have tried to allow acces to it, even redownloaded everything, nothing worked. It's not the biggest problem, since there are subtitles, but it would be good if it worked.

No audio in browser, audio works fine in other browsers, my headphones work fine, my button is not muted. I had to switch to Chrome because of this issue. Tried looking for all possible audio settings but nothing fixes the problem. Everything is like it is suppose to be. Even tried reinstaling mozila firefox - it didn't help. Thanks for help. Saša

Did NOT disable media.rdd-process.enabled (correctly kept at true, as RDD is the process Firefox uses for VA-API decoding). 9. Confirmed Firefox is installed via pacman (not Flatpak), so there is no Flatpak sandbox layer involved. — THE CORE QUESTION — Given that: • vainfo confirms H264 hardware decode is available on renderD128 • H264_HW_DECODE shows as ‘default available’ in Firefox’s own decision log with no blocklist entry • media.hardware-video-decoding.force-enabled is set to true • MOZ_DISABLE_RDD_SANDBOX=1 is set • LIBVA_DRM_DEVICE explicitly points to the correct render node • MPV successfully uses vaapi on the same system …why is Firefox’s RDD process still not routing H264 decoding through VA-API, and what additional steps or logs would help identify the specific internal failure point?
