Im experiencing crashes in and out of troubleshoot mode, often several in a row. The drivers on my device have no futher updates and Im unsure what to do. I have been using Thunderbird for a few months and changed my Google Password(even though Im not quite sure if the error wasnt already occuring before that), but now when I go on Thunderbird it gives me a popup window that says "Enter credentials for name@gmail.com on imap.gmail.com". Theres a field for the email-adress, but when I click "Next" theres the following error: "400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

These are the things I tried: Entering the old or new Password. Checked if the config is set to OAuth2 in both incoming and outgoing servers and enabled on Gmail-Account. Deleted and tried to (unsuccessfully) reregister my Thunderbird-Account. The same error pops up when it checks my password after the configuration.

I dont know if the password change is actually the cause, since I think I remember the error message appearing earlier today, before I changed the password, but Im not sure. Also, I have another account linked to my Thunderbird, with no changed credentials, and while there is no similar error message, thunderbird suddenly also has problems connecting to it and asks to retry a few times (3-4) before actually connecting everytime I open it.

I suddenly cannot send e-mails, as an alert appears that says I have to change my message in that what I am sending might be a scam or questionable, which it never is. Also, all of my new e-mails are going to "Archive" and always has gone into my InBox directly, until now. What is going on, and how can I change it?

Suddenly, when I go to send e-mails (to me, or anyone else) I get a pop up signal that says I can't send it because it might be questionable, etc. What do I do send my e-mails since none of them are "scam" or "questionable".?

Hi, Unfortunately, I am a non-tech person and I am trying to install Thunderbird emails on my Mac Book. I have a thunderbird account which I normally access on desktop, however that will soon be obsolete so want to access them from my Mac Book, but I am really struggling to access and download everything. Please help a damsel in distress

I have two email accounts, one is hotmail.com, the other is on outlook.com

The SMTP for the outlook account works fine, but Thunderbird puts that same smtp details into the Hotmail account smtp. That also puts into the Hotmail username, the outlooks email address.

If I try to send an email using the Hotmail account, I get a message saying 'Hotmail can not send using xx@outlook.com

If I use the settings to make the username xxx@hotmail.com, it puts that into the smtp of the outlook.com address then that will not send giving the same fault. This has only started this last couple of days, nothing changed in the settings.

This only occurs on my Desktop. On my laptop with same settings it works fine.

Yesterday I upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to 11. Today I discovered my Local Folders are not visible. Searching tells me the messages still exist, but TB does not show the folders. I did the same upgrade a month ago on a laptop (Windows 10 Pro to 11), no problems. I didn't externally back up the messages as I am a dinosaur and don't know how, but at least they are still on the hard drive. Thousands of them though so I need the local folders back. Tried all the fixes I can find on the Community Forum, without success. Can anyone help please? Bob

It only happens on some websites (Wikipedia for one) and doesn't happen anywhere else in my system. I was unable to root out the reason for this and all solutions seem to be for when there are boxes instead. I don't see boxes, only Russian letters for some reason.

Unfortunately, I no longer have Mozilla Thunderbird installed, and the .tmp files do not open in any other text editor. I would appreciate any guidance or help in retrieving the contents of these files, as it is crucial for me to access these messages.

Hi! I'm on a relatively new to me (refurb) desktop computer running Win 10 Pro (64 bit)* and Firefox 143.0.3.

In the past week both Firefox and Win 10 have updated. I don't know what happened, but now when I boot up or reboot, my computer opens to MS Edge. Yuck!

Every single time I have to reinstall Firefox! Once I do that, all is well again. I have all my bookmarks back, etc.

It also keeps changing my "default to Firefox" browser setting, turning it OFF, while I'm using Firefox. I repeatedly have to keep going in and clicking to make FF to the default browser again.

Why is it doing this? How do I stop it?

Anyway, I know I can't delete Edge or uninstall it. How do I shove it back into the black hole it has lived in until now?

cannot search a site in the US when I'm in Mx. I DO NOT want the MX site. I want the US site and somthing keeps preventing me from doing so. I posted this previously and got answers that make no sense to me. Dont refer me to articles, they make no sense and those directions never work anyway. How can I get a real person to chat or talk to me to fix this or do I just need to use a different search engine?

how do i block my location? Nothing seems to work. I want to search a site in another country but keep being directed to the site in the country I am in. I dont want to look at that site. I want the site in different country but keep being bounced to the current country site. I getting pissed

Hi I have a firefox account which I use on 2 macs and a PC as well as an android phone. For the past few months non of my book marks, passwords etc are being synced across the system and I have now completely different book marks on different devises. I have synced each computer multiple times without effect. This used to work perfectly before I changed my password a few months back. It is now reaching a point that firefox is no longer usable for me?? Thanks for your help

I am attempting to set up Thunderbird on my desktop. I sign in and only very old email load. I am not sure how to proceed. Outlook is online only now, I need Thunderbird so that I can scan to email.

My Windows11 taskbar has an icon for firefox. If i left click on it (or just hovers) it shows thumbnail preview of the open windows. If to many it turns into a vertical list with the window names.

Lately (couple of months), when two or more firefox tabs or windows are open, I get a vertical list with those open windows but beneath it a complete list of empty entries (even more than there are processes in the task manager ...).

When I restart Windows it goes away for a while. But sometimes returns, I feel it is related to Windows updates as I have the feeling it started with a Windows update, went away with an update and is now back with an update. But that is just a feeling.

I upgraded my Dell PC to Windows 11 yesterday via Windows Update, since support for Windows 10 is ending. Now Firefox crashes often when I close the browser. Everything works fine while I'm using Firefox, it's only when I close the browser that sometime later I will get a crash message on my desktop. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, and the problem persists. From what I can tell, there's some process which is ongoing after the browser is closed, which isn't terminating properly and that's why it's crashing. Hello- Wondering how to turn off the "skip to main content" that continually pops-up on some web sites. This is a problem on a single Firefox installation and I cannot figure out which setting this could be.
