Strange scrubbing issue between Firefox, webm/mp4 and Cachy

Deadsim3

Hello, this is the basic problem:

The short version is that there is a problem with Firefox not interacting with the scrub bar and volume bar. (all other controls work fine) We know it's a Firefox thing because everything works with Brave. (or an interaction between Firefox and the OS at least, Firefox is heavily involved)

There is more detail and we have done some work on it here: CashyOS forum post

You can use the Firefox manifesto V0.2. video for an example, as it displays all the above problems for me.

I can get you guys whatever other data might be needed, but I kinda need an idea where to look to try and fix this, as all the other posts I have managed to find don't seem to have similar enough issues to work.

Pls take a look at this KB: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues

I don't know if your OS uses pulse extrapolate for your specific system. Ty

Thanks for replying but none of that has anything to do with the issue I outlined.

Everything works correctly except the sliders on .webm and .mp4. All youtube videos work completely. All audio works, all video works. I get sound and I can do things with the button controls.

Only the sliders have issues.

I'm really not sure how else to express that, as it is a really strange thing to not work considering the context.

So if I understand the issue correctly, the timeline scrub-bar fails to continue to play video from the new scrubbed position within the downloaded portion of the video? You have updated, the OS, drivers, and Firefox. Are you using a proprietary graphics driver? Are you using the current kernel?

No, the timeline bar and sound bar are simply not intractable. I can't change the positions at all. If I use the keyboard shortcuts everything works fine and I can skip forward just fine. I suppose it is easier to say that I can't use the mouse on the timeline and audio bars.

Everything is updated as much as I can. I have a Nvidia card, so I guess that's proprietary? It's just the standard Nvidia driver as far as I know.
