My provider changed from q.com email to myctl.net email. I was using outlook but it wasn't downloading new emails. They are on provider web mail. When I downloaded Thunderbird it asked about importing from Outlook and I did. Now it is trying to download the 36,000 emails on the server site and going very slowly and I can't open the ones it has downloaded, I think because it was sent to q.com. Can i uninstall Thunderbird and then set it up again without importing anything?

If this is an IMAP account, thunderbird is just sync'ing to the PC. You can adjust that at the 'synchronization&storage pane for that account but changing the sync to just 30 days.

This did not solve problem. It is still downloading the old emails to q.com which I can't open either on Mozilla. I'm thinking I shouldn't have imported from Outlook and hoping I can get guidance about deleting the entire Mozilla and reinstalling without doing the import.
