Firefox thinks I am in North Carolina. How do I change this setting?

Is the new tab page showing you the weather for North Carolina?

Generally speaking, websites will guess your location based on your IP address. That is usually assigned by your internet service provider, either at your home, office, or at some public hotspot you're using. You can override that assignment by using a VPN to access websites through some remote server.

Some pages, for example, store locators on a retailer's website, will prompt Firefox will ask whether you want to share your precise location. On Windows devices, which typically do not have a GPS antenna, this location is determined by asking Windows the details of nearby WiFi hotspots and sending a lookup to Google. The accuracy of this method of location depends on the completeness and currency of Google's data. (See: Does Firefox share my location with websites?)
