One of my sub-folders goes into a loop and wont let me access it

I have been a Mozilla fan for many years without any issues But the other day, when I tried to select one of my sub-folders, it just goes into a processing loop and wont allow access. I can select another sub-folder ok, so it just appears to be this one and you guessed it, I need access to the contents

Try to start Windows in safe mode with networking enabled. - Win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode. - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode

Does the problem go away?
