You can select to show an alert when new message arrives.
- 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'General'
When new messages arrive:
- Select checkbox: 'Show an alert'
- Select checkbox: 'Show a tray icon'
- If you like, you can also select to 'Play a sound'
- Click on 'Customise..' button:
- choose which fields you want displayed and length of time to show the alert.
- click on OK
- Click on OK to save and close Options.
