Since Firefox is free and open-source it would be very welcome on F-Droid. I don't think there is any need to explain why people would prefer to not use Google Play. So why isn't Firefox on alternative appstores like F-Droid? When searching for it you only find one in-official app allowing you download an up2date apk.
