I have an e.mail account set up in both Thunderbird (on laptop) and my iPhone e.mail app as IMAP. When I receive a message, I can open it on one device, but not on the second device. I thought IMAP would enable either device to read the e.mail which would remain on the server.

you have the right idea about IMAP, but I am guessing your Thunderbird is not configured as IMAP.

In order for us to better investigate this issue you need to add a little more non-personal information.

  • Open Help (or click on three-line-icon and select Help)
  • Choose Troubleshooting Information
