I have a new ASUS computer with Windows 8.1 I am trying to make a video call to a friend who has a MAC. When I try to call it appears that there is no camera. I've confirmed with ASUS that I have a camera. I need to know how to connect the camera to the gmail video call.

On the one hand, check if camera's driver is installed. On the other hand, maybe you have to activate manually your camera. Is there an ASUS control panel or an other software which uses the camera?

It turns out that I have a 'dud' Asus computer. Purchased from Costco, but they will only replace it or refund my money. No reimbursement for the $$ spent on transferring from the old one to the new one. Not to mention the hours I've spent with Asus, Costco and the computer tech.
